Ancient Glass
This glass was excavated in northwestern Afghanistan and Tajikistan.  It is the remnants of bottles and jars made along an important network of trading routes called The Silk Road between Europe and China. The bottles and jars, some whole and some in shards, remained buried until local people unearthed them. The glass often emerges from its years in heat and cold extremes with calcification or a rainbow-like patina.  Each piece is roughly recut and drilled into beads that we can wear and enjoy today.
