Vintage Kansas trade/merchant token from WM J. Schwartz, in Hanover, Kansas, 1.25"  in diameter.  A mix of patina brass chain and sterling silver chain suspends the token in the 32" necklace, connected with Baltic amber, amethyst, and Czech pressed glass.  1870-1920's saw the highest use of trade/merchant tokens, mostly for promotion and extending credit in rural towns.
