Kansas trade/merchant token from the Sanders & Freeburg in Courtland, Kansas, just over 1" in diameter.  Patina brass and sterling silver chain with amethyst, sunstone, and carnelian beads, create this 34" necklace.  1870-1920's saw the highest use of trade/merchant tokens, mostly for promotion and extending credit in rural towns.
