Kansas trade/merchant token from Hjerpe Brothers Groceries and Meats, Lindsborg Kansas,  1.5" in diameter.  Mix of sterling silver and patina brass chain with small Bergslagen (Swedish blue glassy slag) beads and baltic amber creates this 28" necklace.   1870-1920's saw the highest use of trade/merchant tokens, mostly for promotion and extending credit in rural towns.
