Carolway Broch
Isle of Lewis, Scotland

Unframed archival pigment print

Carloway Broch on the Isle of Lewis on this foggy evening reflected history and human life here for over 2,000 years since it was built. Brochs are Iron Age round houses and Carloway is one of the best, especially in its setting on the rugged west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The fog was just lifting when I arrived; I made a mad dash up the hill to capture this image before it was gone. The surrounding farmhouses (built with stones  "robbed" from the broch, no doubt) and the layers for lochs and hills in the distance rendered the scene reflective of deep history in a beautiful setting.

FINE ART PRINTS

The print is made on Epson's Legacy Baryta II paper, a beautiful OBA free heavy fine art paper which makes a sumptuous visual presentation. Printed with Epson's Ultrachrome inks for the greatest archival print longevity and color gamut.

Printed personally by Jim, individually signed and numbered, embossed with Jim's studio blind stamp to confirm that each print was created by him.

Our print sizes denote the actual image size. Printed with a wide margin of white paper to facilitate handling, so the total paper size will be larger.
