Kansas trade/merchant token from J.O. Sundstrom, Lindsborg Kansas, just under 1.25" in diameter. Patina brass and sterling silver chain with small Bergslagen (Swedish blue glassy slag) beads and amethyst, creating this 28" necklace. 1870-1920's saw the highest use of trade/merchant tokens, mostly for promotion and extending credit in rural towns.
