Uig Bay, Isle of Lewis, Scotland

Evening at Uig Bay

Isle of Lewis, Scotland

Unframed archival pigment print

"The great bay at Uig on the Isle of Lewis has been a travelers delight since well before the Vikings made it a regular stopping place. I photographed it for our National Geographic Magazine story on the Hebrides of Scotland where this image was published as a gatefold. With a superb calm evening, the bay full at high tide, and a truly spectacular sky I had plenty to work with. I shot this as a multi-image panorama to be sure that it had the highest possible image quality and perspective. Such situations don't come together very often so I often feel a special obligation to the moment and the place when they happen."

Selected for inclusion in the National Geographic Fine Art Galleries, we are now able to offer this prints directly to you, printed personally by Jim using his preferred choice of printers, inks and premium fine art papers. These limited edition prints conform to the NGFA editioning. Prints are signed and numbered by Jim only when they conform to his exacting standards of the best fine art printing available today.

The print is made on Epson's Legacy Baryta II paper, a beautiful OBA free heavy fine art paper which makes a sumptuous visual presentation. Printed with Epson's Ultrachrome inks for the greatest archival print longevity and color gamut.

Printed personally by Jim, individually signed and numbered, embossed with Jim's studio blind stamp to confirm that each print was created by him.

Our print sizes denote the actual image size. Printed with a wide margin of white paper to facilitate handling, so the total paper size will be larger.
